Countertops can be made of stone, solid surface (manufactured), tile, concrete, wood (butcher block) or plastic laminate. All can provide good outcomes.

Many kitchens add a backsplash on the wall between countertops and wall cabinets. Some people like to us granite as the backsplash for continuity in appearance. Others like to use tile as a contrast and accent to the countertop.

Tile now includes much more than “tile”. Today tile includes glass in wide variety of colors and shapes. It also includes metal accent pieces such as antique copper, polished aluminum and stainless steel.

Within each product type, quality, price, availability, style, etc., varies.
